33 the new 27

At 27 I thought I had the world on a string-delicious new baby girl, 2 rascally little boys, a handsome husband, and a new house just begging to be decorated.
I remembered specifically thinking this is bliss. . .
I'm not getting any older (and with 30 right around the corner why not). . .
Here is where I'm rooted. . .

I still joke with Trenton that I'm 27, and he loves bringing me back to reality!
In fact, with an eleven year old trying to pass for 27 is more then pushing it.
It's not that every year since then hasn't been equally as wonderful-
27 just seemed to. . .
stick.

I will say 27 was good, but now I'm thinking at 33 with a spunky preschooler, 2 city rec dedicated & homework laden boys, the still handsome hubby, and a home that's been redecorated once or twice, and still ready for more-
This is Heavenly!
love me some birthday cupcakes!

Also what better thing to do on your birthday then plump up your food storage!
*with clearance Christmas candy no less*

My mother-in-law has some amazing food storage ideas and this one I am loving!
You can use a Food Saver to seal food in bottles.
I have done nuts, chocolate chips, candy and dried fruit.
In fact my kids ate some Easter candy last week that was delicious!
You simply put your food items in any size canning mason jar, put a new seal on the top (no rim is required)
and use the jar attachment for the Food Saver to seal it up!
 It works like a champ!
Also if you store the bottled candy in a box marked "Freeze Dried Vegetables"
the kids will never find it!

*For the sake of being responsible I should remind you to follow the Food Saver's instruction manual every time you use it to ensure properly prepared and stored food*

more pintrest crafts

Saw this one on pintrest & decided to give it a whirl.
I spray painted a grapevine wreath silver and
added 3 tulle flowers with big vintage buttons.
(I'm thinking now the flowers look like a big bath loofah-bah ha ha)

Next up we needed to coral the mess know as M's earrings.
When I was little my friend had an embroidery hoop with
a big piece of lace inside to hook earrings on.
This came to mind, so I "upcycled" an old pictures frame
using the same concept.
I hot glued the little pieces of fabric on the inside of the frame,
and added some small fabric flowers to sparkle it up.
I used a piece of ribbon to hang it-which is
a temporary one until I find a cuter ribbon.

the sign of a good weekend

Two darling cousins & no brothers at home makes for a
great sleepover!
Add clearance p.j.'s from the grocery store
& mint chocolate chip ice cream
and you would have thought they won the lottery!
I cannot stop giggling every time I see this picture!
There is NOTHING better then 3 bestest buddies & a little bro!

I can't help but feel extremely blessed by the good friends
my children (and I) (and my hubby too)
have been blessed with in our life!
They make our burdens lighter & give us endless amounts of laughter!

(and when you 11, like T, your too cool to come home-let alone get a picture
because there is a good buddy, a high school basketball game & a kinect to tend to!
hee he)

sweet sunshine, I miss you

I know I shouldn't complain, honestly we have had such a mild winter,
but I am really missing the warm sun on my face today!
Then to top it off I came across these pictures:

our baby is 5?!?!

I sound like a nostalgic old lady, but it really does seem like
just yesterday we brought our baby girl home from the hospital!
Here are a few pictures from her party
(even though it was a month ago)
M wanted a Hello Kitty party
(I have pushed my childhood fixation on to her,
we may be discussing this in therapy one day!)
We invited all her little buddies & they had a blast!

They played freeze dance, pin the bow on Hello Kitty, & musical spots.

M had a great time!
She has a darling little group of friends!

thank you 2011! it was a rockin year!

My pop ready to welcome in the new year-with much enthusiasm!

We spent a fun evening at my parents house & played bunco in honor of our most favorite bunco babe!
Kylie ended up being our big winner!
M was the laziest player ever, and B was the most enthusiastic!
We watched old family videos & ate lots of yummy food.
It was a great way to end the year!
On pintrest I found an idea for individual 7 layer dips-it was perfect!
I also made southwest eggrolls with cafe rio ranch.

I asked the kids a few things about last year & the upcoming year-here are their answers
The best of 2011:
T: summer vacation
B: going to Las Vegas & getting Pip
M: When we got Pip
A wish for 2012
T: To draw an elk tag
B: Get another cat
M: To get a pet unicorn
A goal for 2012
T: Work on baseball skills
B: Learn to write in cursive better
M: Learn to read
A dream for 2012
T: Go to the Henry Mountains and hunt elk
B: Work at a zoo
M: Go to Sea World

We wish you all a happy & healthy 2012!
